On-board monitoring from philippi – all components at a glance

On-board monitoring covers all the devices you use to check the condition of your electrical system – from the battery and tanks to networked system monitoring. philippi develops and manufactures these components in its own factory in Germany, designed for permanent use on boats, yachts, motorhomes, campers and vehicles.

Battery monitors & battery computers Battery monitors show the voltage, current, state of charge and remaining capacity of your on-board battery in real time. Models such as the BTM2, the BLS and BLM2 sets or the LTM for lithium batteries deliver accurate values and warn of deep discharge early – the basis for a reliable power supply on board.

Tank monitors & tank sensors For tank monitoring of fresh, grey and black water and fuel, displays such as the VTM 2, TCS and BTS-T are available together with matching tank sensors (e.g. TGW for water, TGT for fuel and the TDS/TDN tank probes). This keeps all fill levels in view at all times.

P-Bus system monitoring The networked P-Bus system connects all measuring points into one central monitoring system. System monitors such as the PSL, PSL Plus, PSM3 and the secondary monitor PSS, supplemented by shunts (SHE 348, SHX 648, SHX 348-L) and interfaces, turn individual readings into complete, coordinated energy management.

Deep discharge protection & safety Components for deep discharge protection and devices such as the DCA2 fault current monitor protect batteries and the electrical system from damage and increase safety on board.

Accessories & interfaces NMEA 2000 cables, connection rails and flange rings complete the range and make it easy to integrate into your existing system.

What does on-board monitoring include?

On-board monitoring includes all devices that measure and display the condition of the electrical system: battery monitors with a shunt for voltage, current and state of charge, tank monitors with matching sensors for water, waste water and fuel, P-Bus system monitors that bring all measuring points together, and protective components such as deep discharge protection and the DCA2 fault current monitor.

Which battery monitor is right for me?

That depends on how much you want to monitor. For a single battery bank, a set such as the BLS or the BTM2 is enough; the LTM is designed for lithium batteries. If you want to keep several batteries, charging sources and tanks in view together, choose the networked P-Bus system with a system monitor such as the PSL or PSM3.

Can I see battery and tanks on one display?

Yes. The BTM2 shows battery and tank values together on one display, which makes it suitable for smaller installations. In larger installations the P-Bus system takes over: battery shunts, tank sensors and other measuring points come together on one system monitor, and additional displays such as the PSS can be added at other places on board.

Are the devices suitable for 12 V and 24 V?

Yes. philippi on-board monitoring is designed for 12 V and 24 V systems, as commonly found on boats, in motorhomes and in commercial vehicles. Still, check the specified voltage range of each device, especially for shunts and sensors. For 48 V systems or mixed installations, we are happy to advise you on the right combination.

Does the monitoring work on boats and in motorhomes?

Yes. All components are developed for permanent use in marine and vehicle applications and are manufactured in our own factory in Germany. Whether sailing yacht, motor boat, motorhome or expedition vehicle, the measuring principle and displays are the same. The differences lie mainly in the tank sensors and installation position, which we are happy to agree with you during planning.
