The Weldyflex RT/SW is a single-core, highly flexible high-current cable from Philippi for engine and battery installation in the onboard electrical systems of boats, campers, and vehicles, available in cross-sections from 16 to 120 mm² in red and black.

  • Highly flexible and robust – suitable for cold, heat, outdoor as well as dry and damp installation locations
  • Oil and acid-resistant outer sheath made of EM5 rubber compound
  • Color coding Red/Black for standard-compliant positive/negative wiring
  • Available by the meter and as pre-assembled 50-m rings for all common high-current cross-sections

The Weldyflex RT/SW is used wherever high currents need to be safely transmitted between the battery, main switch, inverter or engine. Thanks to its highly flexible stranded construction, the Philippi cable can be easily laid even in tight installation situations on board or in the vehicle, without the strands stiffening as with rigid cables.

The outer sheath made of EM5 rubber compound makes the Weldyflex flame-retardant as well as oil and acid-resistant and allows use in a temperature range of –25 °C to +85 °C – even in the engine room. The cable is designed for nominal voltages up to 100 V.

Which cross-section is suitable for my application?

The appropriate cross-section depends on the current strength, cable length, and permissible voltage drop of the respective installation; for engine and battery supply lines with high currents, larger cross-sections (from 50 mm²) are common, while 16–35 mm² are often sufficient for smaller consumers.

Is the Weldyflex suitable for use in the engine room?

Yes, thanks to a temperature range up to +85 °C and an oil/acid-resistant sheath, the cable is designed for use in engine rooms.
