philippi Series 100 circuit distributors are compact DC switch panels for installation in protected interior areas of boats, sailing yachts, motor boats and motorhomes. Each circuit consists of a thermal circuit breaker, an LED indicator and a rocker switch. Switching and protection are thus combined on the panel – without separate fuses.

In brief: The STV Series 100 combines switch and thermal circuit breaker in every circuit. In the event of a short circuit the LED goes out and the red button pops out; once the fault is fixed, the circuit is ready again at the push of a button.

What is the STV Series 100 and what is it used for?

The STV Series 100 is a DC switch panel for distributing and protecting on-board circuits in 12 V and 24 V systems. It is designed for protected interiors – typically below deck on sailing yachts and motor boats, at the helm or in the switch cabinet of motorhomes and vehicles.

Series 100 circuit distributors are fitted with E-T-A 1140 thermal circuit breakers. 8 A types are standard; 4 A, 6 A, 10 A, 12 A or 16 A can be fitted on request at no extra charge.

How does the Series 100 thermal circuit breaker work?

In the event of a short circuit, the red button of the thermal circuit breaker pops out and the indicator light goes out. Once the fault has been fixed, the circuit is put back into operation by pressing the red button. No fuse change is required – the circuit breaker can be reused indefinitely. On board this is a decisive advantage: no searching for spare fuses at sea, no tools, immediate return to operation.

Frequently asked questions about the STV Series 100

What happens in the event of a short circuit with the Series 100?

The red button of the thermal circuit breaker pops out and the LED indicator of the circuit goes out, so the affected circuit can be identified immediately. Once the fault has been fixed, the circuit is reactivated simply by pressing the red button. No fuse change is needed, and neither are tools or spare parts.

Which ratings are the circuit breakers available in?

As standard, E-T-A 1140 circuit breakers with 8 A are fitted. On request and at no extra charge we fit 4 A, 6 A, 10 A, 12 A or 16 A per circuit. What counts is the cross-section of the cable the circuit supplies; the cable configurator determines the right value.

Is the Series 100 suitable for 12 V and 24 V?

Yes. Series 100 switch panels are designed for 12 V and 24 V systems and are used in both without modification. Regardless of the voltage, the protection depends on the cross-section of the respective cable. For 48 V systems we are happy to advise you on a suitable solution.

Can I label the circuits?

Yes. Each switch panel is supplied with a sheet of self-adhesive labels (STKZ) so that every circuit can be clearly identified. Circuit labels are also available in various languages. Clear labelling makes operation on board easier and saves time when troubleshooting.

Is the Series 100 suitable for outdoor use?

No. The Series 100 is designed for protected interiors, for example at the chart table, at the helm below deck or in the switch cabinet of a motorhome. For outdoor use and locations exposed to spray such as cockpit or flybridge, the waterproof Series 700 with IP 66 protection is the right choice.

Can the switch panel be connected to the P-Bus system?

Yes. The STV 100 PSM is a Series 100 version with an integrated P-Bus system monitor. This lets you see battery and system data directly in the switch panel and integrate them into P-Bus energy management. How the system is structured is explained on the P-BUS page.
