Philippi switch panels are the central control unit of every onboard electrical system. They distribute power to all consumers in a structured manner, protect each circuit according to its cross-section, and provide an instant overview of the status of each individual circuit. All switch panels are developed and manufactured in Germany – for 12V and 24V onboard electrical systems on boats, yachts, motorhomes, and special vehicles.

Brief explanation: A switch panel is not just a switchboard – it is the heart of the onboard electrical system. Each circuit is individually protected, monitored, and made operable. Philippi uses thermal circuit breakers for protection: no fuse replacement after a short circuit, but simply resetting after the cause has been remedied.

What makes a good switch panel?

In a professional onboard electrical system, every circuit must be protected according to its cross-section. The switch panel is the central distribution point: all circuits converge here, are switched, and protected. A high-quality switch panel fulfills several tasks simultaneously: clear operation, reliable protection, clear fault indication, and easy maintenance.

Philippi switch panels combine all of this in one device – with an LED indicator light, rocker switch, and thermal circuit breaker for each circuit. All circuit breakers are available, if desired and at no extra charge, in values of 4 A, 6 A, 8 A, 10 A, 12 A, 16 A, and 20 A – individually per circuit, matching the respective cable cross-section.

Series 100 – Compact, proven, for any installation location

The Series 100 is the most compact option in the range. With E-T-A 1140 thermal circuit breakers (standard 8 A), LED indicator lights, and rocker switches per circuit, it is the uncomplicated solution for smaller boats, motorhomes, and sub-distributions. Available with 2 to 12+ circuits, expandable with additional panels and blanking plates. Labeling sheet with self-adhesive labels included.

Series 200 – The best-selling switch panel for sailing yachts & motorboats

The Series 200 is the most versatile and popular Philippi switch panel. E-T-A 3130 rocker circuit breakers (standard 10 A) with trip-free operation ensure maximum operational safety. With up to 24 circuits and direct integration of battery monitors, tank monitors, P-Bus system monitors, DC sockets, and USB charging sockets, it is the complete control center for demanding onboard electrical systems. Also available in a two-pole (2p) version for aluminum and steel vessels. All models can be combined and expanded due to their coordinated dimensions.

Series 700 – Waterproof, IP 66, for outdoor use

The Series 700 is the only Philippi switch panel for outdoor use. Waterproof E-T-A 3131 rocker circuit breakers with IP66 protection and integrated LED night illumination make it the first choice for cockpits, open boats, and flybridges. The rocker switches are ordered separately – with individually laser-engraved symbols for each circuit, UV and saltwater resistant. Available with 3 to 5 circuits, optionally with a double USB charging socket, ignition protected for boats with gasoline engines.

Individual configuration and custom-made products

No off-the-shelf switch panel has to meet your requirements – Philippi manufactures completely individual switch panels upon request. Configuration, ampere values, dimensions, integrated monitors and sockets, labeling language, and single-pole or two-pole versions can be freely selected. Frequently Asked Questions about Philippi Switch Panels

Do I have to replace the fuse after a short circuit? No. All Philippi switch panels use thermal circuit breakers. After the fault has been cleared, the affected circuit is simply reactivated by pressing the reset button (Series 100) or switching the rocker switch back on (Series 200/700) – no tools, no spare parts necessary.

How do I determine the correct fuse size per circuit? The fuse size is always determined by the cross-section of the cable to be protected – not by the power of the consumer. An oversized fuse no longer reliably protects the cable. All Philippi circuit breakers are available, if desired and at no extra charge, in 4 A, 6 A, 8 A, 10 A, 12 A, and 16 A.

Which series is suitable for outdoor use? Only the Series 700 with IP66 protection. Series 100 and 200 are designed only for protected indoor areas.

Can I have a switch panel custom-made? Yes. Philippi manufactures switch panels completely according to customer requirements – configuration, dimensions, integrated monitors and sockets, labeling language. Contact us with your requirements.

Are the series compatible with each other? Series 100 and Series 200 can be combined and expanded due to their coordinated dimensions. Blanking plates complement existing panels if required.
