AC Switch Panels – Shore Power and 230 V Panels in Series 200 Format

philippi AC switch panels are panel-mount units for the 230 V side of the onboard electrical system. They take over shore power, protect it in accordance with standards using an RCBo circuit breaker, and distribute it to fused consumer circuits. All units are dimensionally matched to the philippi Series 200 circuit distribution panels.

Briefly explained: If you have already set up the DC switch panel in Series 200, you can place the 230 V technology in the same format next to it. Shore power connection unit, consumer circuits, and mains display thus integrate into a continuous panel row, instead of sitting as a separate housing elsewhere.

Standard-compliant shore connection: the RCBo circuit breaker

For the 230 V shore connection on boats, DIN EN ISO 13297 requires a two-pole line protection and a residual current device with a 30 mA tripping current. An RCBo combines both in one device: it protects people against fault currents and the installation against overload and short circuit. The shore power connection units in this category operate with an RCBo 16 A / 30 mA.

Overview of the units

LAE 232 – Shore power connection unit with RCBo 16 A / 30 mA, mains control display and two two-pole thermal circuit breakers 10 A for AC 230 V / 50 Hz. Connection via rear terminals; the rear construction is designed to be touch-safe. Dimensions W 105 × H 210 × D 100 mm.

LAE 235 – Shore power connection unit with RCBo 16 A / 30 mA, mains control display and Schuko socket. For integration as a single device in an existing Series 200 panel row.

LAE 236 – Expansion panel with six circuits, each with a two-pole thermal rocker circuit breaker 10 A for AC 230 V / 50 Hz. Dimensions W 105 × H 210 × D 70 mm. The LAE 236 has no integrated RCBo protection and requires upstream RCBo protection, for example, from an LAE 232 or LAE 235.

LAE 233 and the LAE-234 variants (LG, LGW, LGK) complement the range with further configurations in the same panel-mount format; the LAE 234 LGK is designed for operation with a combined inverter/charger. The exact features can be found on the respective product page.

LAR – Mains control panel for displaying the mains status.

For all panel-mount units, a rear cover must be provided on-site.

Comparison

Model RCBo AC Consumer Circuits Schuko Installation Depth
LAE 232 16 A / 30 mA 2 × 10 A – 100 mm
LAE 235 16 A / 30 mA – Yes –
LAE 236 None, external required 6 × 10 A – 70 mm

Frequently Asked Questions about AC Switch Panels

Do the AC panels fit into my existing Series 200 switch panel? Yes. The units are dimensionally matched to the Series 200 circuit distribution panels and integrate into existing panel rows. A rear cover must be provided on-site.

Do I need an additional RCBo unit for the LAE 236? Yes, absolutely. The LAE 236 is a pure expansion panel without its own residual current protection and may only be operated behind upstream RCBo protection.

What is the difference between AC switch panels and AC shore power connection units? AC switch panels are panel-mount units in Series 200 format for integration into a switch panel. The AC shore power connection units category also includes standalone units in enclosures, for example, for splash-proof installation locations.

Which standard applies to the shore connection? DIN EN ISO 13297. It requires two-pole line protection and residual current protection with a 30 mA tripping current – both of which are met by the RCBo circuit breaker used.
