Notes on battery disposal
In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
You can return used batteries that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range, either at your own expense or free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). Alternatively, you can drop off the batteries at local collection points.
As an end-user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries so that they can be recycled or disposed of properly.
Old batteries can contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese, or nickel and can be recycled.
The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning:
The symbol of the crossed-out waste bin means that the battery must not be placed in household waste.
For batteries containing a certain mass of lead, cadmium, or mercury, the following additions below the symbol of the crossed-out waste bin indicate the respective harmful substances:
Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 mass percent lead
Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002 mass percent cadmium
Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005 mass percent mercury
Information on the costs included according to Article 56 Paragraph 4 EU Battery Regulation (Regulation 2023/1542) can be found at the initiative "Batterie-Zurück".
Special features for the sale of starter batteries

In connection with the sale of starter batteries, if you are an end-user, we are obliged, in accordance with Section 19 BattDG, to charge a deposit of 7.50 Euros including VAT for each starter battery if you do not return a used starter battery at the time of purchasing a new one. The deposit is not included in the purchase price and is shown on the item in addition to the final price.

If you return a used starter battery to us that we carry or have carried as a new battery in our range in accordance with Section 18 BattDG, we are obliged, within the framework of legal regulations, to take it back free of charge and to refund the deposit amount.

If we have issued a deposit token in accordance with Section 19 Para. 1 Sentence 3 BattDG, the refund of the deposit upon return of the used starter battery is dependent on the return of the deposit token.

The return location is the address listed in the imprint.

A return of the used starter battery by post is not permitted due to the hazardous goods regulations.

Alternatively, used starter batteries can also be handed in free of charge at recycling centers. The deposit we charge will not be refunded by public recycling centers. However, you have the option there of having the return of the used starter battery confirmed on the deposit token. Upon presentation of the confirmed deposit token, you will receive the battery deposit back from us. If no deposit token was issued, proof of return from the authorized collection point is sufficient. In this case, the proof must not be older than two weeks at the time of presentation.
