A DC fuse distributor distributes power from the battery to individual circuits and protects each cable according to its cross-section – clearly, compactly and with fewer cable connections than individual fuses. In this category you will find fuse holders and distributors from Blue Sea Systems, Mastervolt and philippi, circuit breakers from E-T-A and Blue Sea, and holders for bolt-down fuses – for currents from 1 A to 200 A.

SafetyHub 100 and SafetyHub 150 (Blue Sea Systems)

Compact DC distributors for currents from 1 to 200 A, as main or sub-distribution. The SafetyHub 150 has 4 MIDI fuse positions (30–200 A) for high loads such as a switch panel or anchor windlass and 6 positions for blade fuses (1–30 A). Ignition protected for boats with petrol engines, IP 66.

Fuse holders for blade fuses

Holders for 4, 6, 8, 2 × 6 and 12 circuits, also in IP 66 versions and with additional negative terminals (ASM 6 / ASM 12), plus holders for direct mounting on the battery terminal, the ASH 6 / ASH 8 blade fuse holders and the FSS blade fuse set.

Bolt-down fuses and fuse block

3-way holders for bolt-down fuses (BS 5194, BS 5196) and the ESF 5 fuse block for higher currents.

Circuit breakers instead of fuses

CLB series circuit breakers up to 100 A with matching multi-way distributors and the E-T-A 1610-21 and 1170-01 overcurrent circuit breakers can be reset after tripping instead of being replaced.

Main or sub-distribution

Fuse distributors are suitable as the main distribution of smaller systems and as sub-distribution, for example for the chart table, galley or habitation unit. With widely distributed loads or several battery banks, a combination of busbars and individual fuse holders is often more sensible. Frequently asked questions about DC fuse distributors

May the SafetyHub be installed in boats with petrol engines?

Yes, the SafetyHub is ignition protected and may therefore also be installed in boats with petrol engines, where explosive vapours can occur in the engine and tank area. It is also protected against dust and water jets to IP 66. For other distributors: ignition protection is only given if it is explicitly stated on the product page.

How large must the fuse for a circuit be?

The size of each fuse depends on the cross-section of the cable it protects, not on the power of the load. A fuse that is too large no longer protects the cable, one that is too small trips during normal operation. The cable configurator determines the right value for current, cable length and voltage.

Blade fuse, MIDI fuse or circuit breaker?

Blade fuses (ATO/ATC) are suitable for loads up to about 30 A and sit in fuse holders with several positions. For higher currents up to 200 A, MIDI fuses are used, for example in the SafetyHub. Circuit breakers such as the CLB series or the E-T-A overcurrent breakers can be reset after tripping instead of being replaced.

Are the fuse distributors suitable for 12 V and 24 V?

Yes, the fuse distributors are designed for 12 V and 24 V systems. For 48 V systems, please check the permitted voltage of the respective holder and fuses on the product page, because not every blade fuse is approved for higher DC voltages. If in doubt, we are happy to advise you.

Fuse distributor or busbar with individual fuses?

With many loads in a confined space, a fuse distributor is clearer and saves cable connections. If loads are widely distributed or there are several battery banks, a combination of busbars and individual fuse holders is often more sensible. In any case, the main fuse belongs as close to the battery as possible.
