Sine Wave Combi Inverter Studer X-tender

The Xtender series of combi inverters are the result of many years of development work. The new smart-Boost function allows external AC sources (shore power, generator) to be supported, meaning the inverter's power can be added to an existing grid or generator power, for example, to enable air conditioners to start with weak shore power or generators (Power Shaving). The devices can also be combined with existing inverters to increase available power. The pure sine wave voltage, exceptional overload capacity, and very high efficiency enable reliable starting of motor loads with high inrush current. With shore power, the onboard batteries are automatically charged via a PFC-controlled charging stage, and 230 V devices are supplied with shore power. The Power Sharing function ensures automatic reduction of the charging current at the load limit of the AC source.

The Smart-Boost Function

This function can increase the power of another AC source, such as a generator or shore power, even if special loads (inductive, asymmetrical, with high inrush current, etc.) are connected. The Xtender can also be combined with almost all existing inverters to increase the available power.

Increasing System Power

Multiple Xtenders can be connected in parallel and three-phase. Up to nine Xtenders can work together in a system and operate loads of up to 63 kilowatts. The Xtender can also be combined with almost all existing inverters to increase the available power. Using the RCC-02/-03 remote control, the Xtender can be configured, and all information about the system status can be accessed at any time via the graphical display.

Adjustable Shore Power Capacity

If the current consumption of the loads exceeds the adjustable shore power capacity, the inverter switches on automatically. The charging power is also adjusted to the shore power capacity.

Automatic Load Detection

Load detection (stand-by) adjustable over a wide range from a very low value.

Multifunction Contacts

2 potential-free changeover contacts can be programmed for many different applications. They can react to any event outside or inside the Xtender (grid availability, battery voltage, fault message). They can also be programmed as timers or switched during specific times (night, weekend). Thus, they can serve as a generator start-up device, for switching off less important loads, for indicating a fault, for situation-dependent battery charging, etc.
