Studer X-tender Sinus Combi Inverter
The Xtender series of combi inverters are the result of many years of development work. The new smart-boost function allows for the support of external AC sources (shore power, generator), meaning the inverter's power can be added to an existing grid or generator power to, for example, enable the start of air conditioners with weak shore power or generators (power shaving). The devices can also be combined with existing inverters to increase the available power. The pure sine wave voltage, exceptional overload capacity, and very high efficiency enable the reliable startup of motor loads with high inrush current. When shore power is connected, the on-board batteries are automatically charged via a PFC-regulated charging stage, and the 230 V devices are supplied with shore power. The power sharing function ensures an automatic reduction of the charging current at the load limit of the AC source.
The Smart-Boost Function
With this function, the power of another AC source, such as a generator or shore power, can be increased, even when special loads (inductive, asymmetric, with high inrush current, etc.) are connected. The Xtender can also be combined with almost all existing inverters to increase the available power.
Increasing System Power
Several Xtenders can be connected in parallel and three-phase. Up to nine Xtenders can work together in one system and power loads up to 63 kilowatts. The Xtender can also be combined with almost all existing inverters to increase the available power. Using the RCC-02/-03 remote control, the Xtender can be configured, and all information about the system status can be accessed at any time via the graphical display.
Adjustable Shore Power Output
If the current consumption of the loads exceeds the adjustable shore power output, the inverter automatically switches on. The charging power is also adjusted to the shore power output.
Automatic Load Detection
Adjustable load detection (stand-by) over a wide range, starting from a very low value.
Multifunction Contacts
2 potential-free changeover contacts can be programmed for many different applications. They can react to any event outside or inside the Xtender (grid availability, battery voltage, fault message). They can also be programmed as timers or switched during certain times (night, weekend). Thus, they can serve as a generator start device, for switching off less important consumers, for indicating a fault, for situation-dependent battery charging, etc.
