Galvanic Isolator
To prevent galvanic currents between the hull and the shore power system, a galvanic isolator can be installed. Two diodes, connected in anti-parallel and in series, create such a high blocking potential that galvanic currents can no longer flow. The galvanic isolator is also suitable for yachts with a plastic hull to prevent galvanic corrosion of the propulsion unit caused by shore power connection.
