The philippi STV 258 is a switch panel (circuit distributor) of the 200 series with 18 circuits and an integrated system monitor PSM3 for central monitoring of the onboard electrical system, batteries and tanks on larger sailing and motor yachts. It is designed for 12 V and 24 V onboard electrical systems and can be extended with further P-Bus components.

The STV 258 belongs to the 200 series of philippi circuit distributors and performs the three central functions for each of the 18 circuits: switching on/off, protection via thermal rocker circuit breakers and visual function indication. Instead of fuses, philippi consistently relies on circuit breakers: after a short circuit, the affected circuit can simply be switched on again without having to look for the right spare fuse.
The heart of the switch panel is the system monitor PSM3, which centrally displays battery and tank data as well as the status of the onboard electrical system and offers full access to the P-Bus system. If you want to extend your P-Bus system later, the STV 258 is the right choice; if, on the other hand, pure battery/tank monitoring without later extension is sufficient, the structurally identical STV 238 with the simpler BTM2 monitor is the more economical alternative.

The STV 258 is part of the philippi 200 series and can be combined with the matching P-Bus components and the SHE shunt for battery monitoring; these are not included in the scope of delivery and are ordered separately. Structurally identical alternatives in the same size are the STV 238 (BTM2 monitor) and the STV 264 with 24 circuits.
When is the PSM3 worthwhile compared to the BTM2?

What does the navigation light monitoring indicate?
