Cell voltage
Kurz definiert
The voltage of a single battery cell. Lead-acid is about 2 volts per cell, LiFePO4 about 3.2 — which determines how many cells make up a 12-volt block.
In der Praxis
A 12-volt lead-acid block consists of six cells, a 12-volt LiFePO4 battery of four. That is why the end-of-charge voltages of the two technologies do not match and a charge controller must be set to the type.
With lithium, cell voltage is also the value the battery management system monitors: it disconnects when a single cell reaches its limit — regardless of what the total voltage shows.
