The Blue Sea Systems (BSS 2203/2204) feed-through bolt (DFB) is an insulated connection bolt that routes high-current cables through the hull, deck, or bulkhead without chafing and with strain relief. A threaded bolt on both sides ensures a secure connection between the cable sections, while the mounting surface can be sealed or encapsulated, allowing for a watertight installation.
Advantages
- Prevents chafing and provides strain relief when routing high-current cables through holes in the hull, deck, and bulkhead
- Large mounting surface can be sealed or encapsulated – watertight installation possible (IP66, protected against strong water jets)
- One-Piece Serrated Flange Nut ensures a correct and permanently secure connection
- Available in black and red for clear positive/negative identification in the on-board electrical system
Technical Data & Compatibility
- Threaded bolt: 3/8"-16, on both sides for cable routing
- Continuous current: 250 A DC
- Max. operating voltage: 48 V DC
- Bolt material: tinned copper alloy
- Mounting: #10 (M5) screws
- Protection class: IP66 (protected against strong water jets)

- Red variant: SKU 700122204, 31.65 EUR
Where is the DFB feed-through bolt used?
The DFB is used wherever high-current cables need to pass through a hole in the hull, deck, or bulkhead – for example, between the engine room and the battery bank, or for wiring bow thrusters and anchor winches. The sealed mounting surface keeps the feed-through watertight even under splash water, while the strain relief protects the cable from vibrations and mechanical stress.
