The EGIS XD2p (8730-1505) is a remote-controlled, 2-pole battery main switch for 500 A continuous current (1,500 A cranking current). Two bistable relays disconnect the positive and negative lines together from the onboard electrical system and hold the switching state even without continuous current. Sealed to IP67/IP6K9K, suitable for yachts, motorhomes and off-road vehicles.
Your benefits
- 2-pole disconnection: switches the positive and negative lines together
- Bistable relays hold the switching state without continuous current – only 1.3 mA quiescent current consumption
- Remote-controlled – ideal when the main switch is located in a hard-to-reach place
- Manual 3-position override knob (Open/Closed/Locked) as a fallback
- Programmable via DIP switches (undervoltage cut-off point, delay, voltage difference)
- Up to 1,000,000 mechanical switching cycles
Details
The XD2p switches two independent poles – for example the positive and negative lines or two separate circuits – simultaneously and by remote control. Compared with conventional continuous-current relays, the bistable solenoid technology reduces installation size and weight by 35–75 % and significantly lowers the quiescent current. An illuminated 3-position knob shows the switching state and allows manual override directly on the unit, while DIP switches under the protective cover allow fine adjustment of undervoltage protection and switching delay. philippi uses the XD2p where onboard electrical systems have to be disconnected on two poles by remote control.

Compatibility
The XD2p is part of the modular EGIS XD Flex series and can be expanded with further XD relays via busbars to form multi-battery systems.
Frequently asked questions
Does the XD2p hold the switching state even in the event of a power failure?
Yes, thanks to the bistable relay technology, the last set switching state is retained even without control voltage.
Can I override the XD2p manually?
Yes, the 3-position knob allows the switch to be opened, closed or locked manually, independently of the remote control.
