Resistive sender
Kurz definiert
A tank sender whose resistance changes with the fill level — usually via a float with a sliding contact or via a resistor chain in an immersion tube.
In der Praxis
There are several common value ranges that are not compatible with each other. Anyone who swaps a sender without changing the display setting gets a plausible-looking but wrong reading.
Mechanical floats are the design most prone to wear: the sliding contact works in the liquid. For black water and aggressive liquids, contactless methods are the longer-lasting choice.
