Peukert exponent
Kurz definiert
An index of how strongly the usable capacity of a lead-acid battery falls as the discharge current rises. The higher the value, the greater the loss with fast discharge.
In der Praxis
Typical values are around 1.2 to 1.3 for flooded batteries, lower for AGM. With lithium, the effect is so small that it is usually neglected in practice.
Battery monitors factor the exponent into their remaining-runtime forecast. If it is set incorrectly, the displayed state of charge is wrong under high load — the most common reason for a reading that seems too optimistic.
