The EGS 3908 is a sealed MIDI fuse distributor from EGIS Mobile Electric with five fuse positions for MIDI fuses up to 200 A per circuit (max. 500 A total current). The design, sealed to IP66/IP6K9K with a Gore-Tex valve, protects against splash water and dust and is suitable for onboard electrical systems on yachts, motorhomes and off-road vehicles.

Details

The EGS 3908 distributes and protects up to five circuits in a compact housing made of glass-fibre-reinforced nylon with tinned copper busbars – ideal for individually protecting several loads such as a refrigerator, pumps or lighting. Like the smaller EGS 3808, the EGS 3908 is designed for up to 500 A continuous current in total; the O-ring-sealed fuse chamber and the Gore-Tex venting valve reliably protect the contacts from moisture. philippi carries the EGS 3908 as part of the EGIS range for protecting onboard electrical systems in marine and off-road installations.

Compatibility

Using optional link busbars, the EGS 3908 can be combined with the EGS 3808 as well as with switches and relays of the EGIS XD series to form a larger distribution system.

Frequently asked questions

How does the EGS 3908 differ from the EGS 3808?
The EGS 3908 offers five instead of three MIDI fuse positions. Technically, both distributors are identical in construction: 500 A total current, IP66/IP6K9K, M8 connection.

Can I change a fuse during operation?
The cover can be opened without tools; two spare fuses are stored directly in the lid. For safety reasons, the respective circuit should be de-energised beforehand.
