Manual LAE 111: Connecting and Installing the Shore Power/Generator Changeover Unit

The LAE 111 shore power changeover unit protects the 230 V connection, switches between shore power and generator or between shore power and inverter, and monitors the connection. Two mains indicator lights show the AC connection, and a voltmeter (250 V) shows the onboard voltage. Four double-pole circuit breakers rated 10 A switch the individual loads. This page summarises the connection, installation dimensions and technical data from the installation manual.

Intended use and safety

The LAE 111 shore power changeover unit is used to protect, switch and monitor the 230 V connection (shore power/generator or shore power/inverter). Two mains indicator lights show the AC connection, and the voltmeter (250 V) shows the onboard voltage. The four double-pole circuit breakers (10 A) can be used to switch the individual loads. The electrical connection is made via feed-through terminals on the underside of the housing.

  • Work on system components for 230 V/50 Hz mains voltage may only be carried out by qualified electricians.
  • The installation manual is part of the component delivery. Keep it in a safe place for later maintenance work and pass it on to any subsequent owners.

Frequently asked questions

What is the LAE 111 used for?

The LAE 111 protects, switches and monitors the 230 V connection, either shore power and generator or shore power and inverter. Two mains indicator lights show the AC connection, and a voltmeter (250 V) shows the onboard voltage. Four double-pole circuit breakers rated 10 A switch the individual loads.

Which loads does the LAE 111 switch?

Output A switches the water heater (Hot Water), output B the charger (Battery Charger), output C the sockets (Sockets) and output D the air conditioning (Air Condition), each via a 10 A circuit breaker. All outputs are additionally protected by the RCBo 25 A (30 mA) residual current circuit breaker.

Which terminals and cables do I need?

Shore power goes to terminal 11 (L1), terminal 12 (N) and PE; the generator or inverter goes to terminal 21 (L1), terminal 22 (N) and PE. The manual specifies 4 mm² for the mains inputs and at least 1.5 mm² for outputs A to D. Work on the 230 V system may only be carried out by qualified electricians.

What are the dimensions of the LAE 111?

The LAE 111 measures 260 mm in width, 185 mm in height and 100 mm in depth. The mounting cut-out is 235 mm wide and 160 mm high, with a minimum depth of 97 mm. The connection is made via feed-through terminals on the underside of the housing.
