In the electrical systems of motorhomes, commercial vehicles, and yachts, the VHR 200 isolation relay ensures that the starter battery and the house battery(s) are connected precisely when the alternator is actually charging. As soon as one of the two batteries is above the switch-on voltage for 30 seconds, the relay connects both circuits; if the voltage drops below the switch-off threshold for 10 seconds, it disconnects them again. This preserves sufficient starting capacity while reliably charging the house battery during driving or engine operation.
