The Panda 5000i PMS is a water-cooled marine diesel generator with Fischer Panda's variable speed technology for yachts and boats. It delivers 5.0 kVA / 4.0 kW at 230 V / 50 Hz single-phase and is equipped with the proven Kubota EA300 engine. Philippi supplies the Panda 5000i PMS as a complete package for integration into existing onboard electrical systems on motor and sailing yachts.
- Low operating costs thanks to variable speed control: The engine runs load-dependently between 2,200 and 2,800 rpm instead of permanently at a fixed speed – this saves diesel and reduces wear in partial load operation.
- Proven Kubota EA300 engine with a worldwide service network – an advantage for owners who want access to established spare parts and maintenance structures even abroad.
- Stable voltage regulation by iControl (tolerance ±3%) and power factor cos φ 0.80 for reliable operation of sensitive 230 V consumers.
- Low sound pressure of 68 dB(A) at 1 m distance due to the hermetically sealed, water-cooled GRP 3D sound enclosure of the engine and generator.
- IMO-MARPOL-73/78 compliant – relevant for owners who operate or charter their boat outside European waters.
The Panda 5000i PMS is the established model in Fischer Panda's Perfect-Power-i series and relies on the Kubota EA300 engine, a water-cooled single-cylinder with a displacement of 309 cm³. This distinguishes the Panda 5000i PMS from its identically powerful sister model, the Panda 5000i Neo PMS, which uses the newly developed, in-house Fischer Panda engine FPE320 and is therefore lighter and more compact. Both generators deliver an identical 5.0 kVA / 4.0 kW at 230 V – the choice between the models depends primarily on engine preference, available installation space, and weight requirements on board. Philippi will advise you on which of the two models is the right choice for your boat.
Typical application scenarios for the Panda 5000i PMS include retrofitting on motor yachts and sailing yachts in the 30 to 45-foot class where a quiet 230 V generator is needed for air conditioning, coffee machines, chargers, or the galley, as well as new build projects where a Kubota engine with long-term available, worldwide spare parts service is preferred – for example, for cruising and charter operations outside Europe. Since the variable speed technology only allows the engine to run as fast as the current electrical load requires, the Panda 5000i PMS operates very economically even in partial load operation.
Important note: The Panda 5000i PMS is not approved for operation on European inland waterways.

Compatibility
The Panda 5000i PMS supplies 230 V / 50 Hz and can be integrated into an existing onboard electrical system in combination with Philippi onboard electrical components such as automatic transfer switches for shore power/generator and battery chargers. Owners who prefer the established Kubota engine with a global service network choose the Panda 5000i PMS; if, on the other hand, low weight and compact installation space are paramount, the lighter Panda 5000i Neo PMS with the in-house Fischer Panda FPE320 engine from the Philippi range is the suitable alternative.
Frequently asked questions about the Panda 5000i PMS
What is the difference between the Panda 5000i PMS and the Panda 5000i Neo PMS?
Both models deliver an identical 5.0 kVA / 4.0 kW at 230 V. The Panda 5000i PMS is equipped with the proven Kubota EA300 engine, while the Panda 5000i Neo PMS uses the newly developed, in-house Fischer Panda FPE320 engine and is therefore lighter (approx. 67 kg instead of 82 kg) and more compact.
Am I allowed to use the Panda 5000i PMS on the Rhine or other European inland waterways?
No, the generator is not approved for operation on European inland waterways.
How loud is the Panda 5000i PMS in operation?
Due to the water-cooled, hermetically sealed encapsulation, the sound level is 68 dB(A) at 1 m distance, 64 dB(A) at 5 m, and 54 dB(A) at 7 m distance.
Why is the Kubota engine the better choice for some owners?
Kubota is a globally established engine manufacturer with a correspondingly dense service and spare parts network. For owners who cruise or charter outside Europe, this can be a practical advantage over the newer, in-house Fischer Panda FPE320 engine of the Panda 5000i Neo PMS.
Is there technical support for problems?
Fischer Panda offers a 24-hour hotline for technical questions and malfunctions. Philippi, as a specialist dealer, is also available for advice on integration into your onboard electrical system.
