Alternator, XT series, 250A, 12V, double foot 3.15"

The Balmar XT-DF-250-K6 alternator from the XT series delivers up to 250A at 12V and features dual foot/saddle mounting (3.15") – the high-performance variant of the XT series for yachts, motorboats, and RVs with very large electrical systems, such as those with extensive lithium battery banks, air conditioning, or multiple consumers simultaneously. It is the most powerful solution available when a 170A alternator is no longer sufficient.

• For this power class, a simple single V-belt is not sufficient – without an existing double V-belt or serpentine belt, an AltMount© pulley conversion kit is required
• For non-adaptive speed display, the Balmar 15-TSS tachometer signal stabilizer may be necessary
• For Yanmar engines with common rail technology and newer Volvo engines, the 61-0050 (K6) pulley is required

Is 250A sufficient for my electrical system?

With up to 186A even at idle and 250A peak power, this alternator can handle even very large battery banks and power-hungry electrical systems. Check in advance whether your engine already has a double V-belt or serpentine belt and the appropriate foot mount – our support team will assist you with any questions.

Individually or as a Set?

The "individual" variant (SKU 752125014) provides only the alternator for those who already have a suitable multi-stage regulator. The "set" (SKU 752125015) additionally includes the MC-618 multi-stage regulator with temperature sensors and is the recommended choice for a complete new installation or the transition to precise, temperature-monitored charging – especially important in this high power class.

Ideal for large sailing and motor yachts as well as RVs with extensive electrical systems, for upgrading to powerful lithium battery banks, and for frequent engine running times at idle, for example when charging in an anchorage.
