The Balmar MC-618-H is a sophisticated 12-volt multi-stage regulator from the Max-Charge series, designed for anyone looking to get the most out of their alternator and battery bank. Instead of rigid, often insufficient factory regulation, the MC-618 takes over charging using a finely tuned 8-stage algorithm, adapting individually to battery type, temperature, and engine operation.

MC-618 or ARS-5 – which regulator is right for my boat?

Those who need temperature compensation, the Belt Load Manager, connection to an SG200 battery monitor, or a later twin-engine expansion with Centerfielder II should opt for the MC-618. For simpler single-engine applications with reduced functionality, the more affordable ARS-5 is often sufficient.
