12V-120A alternator for Yanmar engines

How much charging power does my Yanmar electrical system really need?

Those who operate a refrigerator, anchor winch, navigation devices, chargers, and other consumers in parallel, or who have retrofitted a larger house battery bank, will benefit significantly from the additional amp-hours of this 120A version compared to the 100A variant. The prerequisite is the matching dual-foot engine mount in Hitachi style, as installed on most Yanmar and Westerbeke diesels.

Single or as a Set?

In the "single" variant, the alternator works with its standard internal Smart-Ready regulator - sufficient for many motor yachts with regular engine run times. The "set" supplements the alternator with the external ARS-5 multi-stage regulator and two temperature sensors for the alternator and battery, which automatically adjust the charging curve to the respective temperature. Recommended especially for large house batteries or if the engine - for example, when sailing - runs only irregularly.

Area of Application

Predestined for sailboats and motor yachts with Yanmar or Westerbeke diesel engines that have an extended battery capacity and a demanding onboard electrical system. Especially when sailing, where the engine runs only sporadically, the high charging power ensures that the batteries are fully charged in a short time.
