The BHM 230 (2-pole) battery master switch from the Blue Sea Systems m-series simultaneously switches the positive terminals of the starter and house batteries. The additional "Combine" position allows both battery banks to be connected in parallel, for example, for starting with combined capacity or for joint charging via the alternator current.
Advantages
- Dual Circuit Plus™: switches two isolated battery banks simultaneously or combines them via the Combine position
- Enables emergency starting or simultaneous charging of both battery banks
- Tin-plated copper studs for maximum conductivity and corrosion protection
- One-piece stud design that won't loosen even under vibration
- Insulating cover protects the rear contacts
Technical Data & Compatibility
- Switching function: Dual Circuit Plus™ – switches two isolated battery banks simultaneously or combines them to all consumers (Combine); due to the combine function, it is not suitable for simultaneous switching of positive and negative conductors
- Continuous current: 300 A per circuit
- Peak current: 675 A / 30 sec. per circuit (Intermittent 5 min: 450 A per circuit)
- Voltage: max. 32 V DC
- Mounting type: universal flush, surface, or panel mounting
- Connections: Studs for 3/8" (M10) ring terminals, cables up to 4/0 AWG (120 mm²)
Which electrical system is the BHM 230 suitable for?
The BHM 230 is ideal for boats and off-road vehicles with separate starter and house batteries, where both banks should be charged and used independently in normal operation, but parallel operation must be possible if required – for example, if the starter battery is discharged.
In combination with an automatic charging relay (ACR), the BHM 230 can also be used for controlled parallel charging of both banks via the alternator.
