Manual LAE 100: Connecting and Installing the Shore Power Unit
The LAE 100 shore power unit protects and monitors the 230 V shore power connection on board. A mains indicator light shows the connection to the AC supply on shore (ready for operation), and an RCBO 16 A residual current circuit breaker with 30 mA protects the loads. The connection is made via feed-through terminals on the underside of the housing. This page summarises the connection, installation dimensions and technical data from the installation manual.

Intended use and safety
The LAE 100 and LAE 101 shore power units are used to protect and monitor the 230 V shore power connection. The mains indicator light shows the connection to the AC supply on shore (ready for operation). The electrical connection is made via the feed-through terminals on the underside of the housing.
- Make all connections to the shore power unit carefully and use the supplied wire end ferrules when connecting.
- Work on system components for 230 V/50 Hz mains voltage may only be carried out by qualified electricians.
- The installation manual is part of the component delivery. Keep it in a safe place for later maintenance work and pass it on to any subsequent owners.

Conformity and disposal
According to the manual, the product meets the requirements of the EU directives 2004/108/EC (electromagnetic compatibility, immunity EN 61000-6-1, emission EN 61000-6-3) and 2006/95/EC (electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits). For disposal, local regulations apply; use the collection points for waste electrical and electronic equipment.

Frequently asked questions
What is the LAE 100 shore power unit used for?
The LAE 100 protects and monitors the 230 V shore power connection. The mains indicator light shows the connection to the AC supply on shore and signals readiness for operation. The connection is made via feed-through terminals on the underside of the housing, protected by an RCBO 16 A with 30 mA.
How do I connect the LAE 100?
Shore power goes to terminal 11 (L1), terminal 12 (N) and PE; the loads are connected to terminal 41 (L1), terminal 42 (N) and PE. The cable cross-section is at least 2.5 mm², and the supplied wire end ferrules must be used. Work on system components for 230 V/50 Hz may only be carried out by qualified electricians.
What mounting cut-out does the LAE 100 need?
The mounting cut-out of the LAE 100 is 122 × 157 mm with a minimum depth of 97 mm. For the LAE 101, by contrast, the cut-out is 157 × 122 mm. The electrical connection is made via feed-through terminals on the underside of the housing. The manual should be kept safe for later maintenance work.
Is the LAE 100 available for Switzerland?
Yes, the manual mentions a Swiss (CH) version. It differs in its protection: instead of the RCBO 16 A residual current circuit breaker with 30 mA, an RCBO 13 A with 30 mA is provided. This information is given in the manual as a footnote to the technical data.
