The Philippi STV 256 switch panel is a 14-circuit power distribution unit for 12V and 24V marine electrical systems on yachts, combining circuit breakers, the PSM3 system monitor, navigation light monitoring, and a USB charging function in one panel. It is suitable for sailing and motor yachts where the P-Bus system is intended to grow gradually.

The STV 256 belongs to the Philippi Switch Panel Series 200 and is aimed at yacht owners and marine equipment suppliers who want a central, clear power distribution with modern P-Bus monitoring. If pure battery and tank monitoring is sufficient, the smaller STV 236 with BTM2 monitor is the more affordable alternative in the same housing; those looking for the largest display should choose the STV 274 with PSL P-Bus system monitor.

The 14 circuits are connected via 6.3 mm flat plug terminals on the back of the circuit breakers; high-quality busbars made of nickel-plated copper ensure reliable power transfer in the marine environment. A sheet with labeling tags for the circuits is included. Like all Philippi switch panels, the STV 256 is developed and manufactured in Germany.

The STV 256 is designed for the Philippi P-Bus system: Shunt SHE 300 and other P-Bus interfaces are not included and must be ordered separately. This allows the onboard network monitoring to be selectively expanded later, for example, with additional tank or battery sensors.

When is the PSM3 worthwhile compared to the BTM2?

If you plan to expand your P-Bus system later – the PSM3 is designed for the entire network, while the BTM2 only monitors battery and tank.

What does the navigation light monitoring display?

It alerts optically via the display and acoustically as soon as a navigation light (e.g., port, starboard, or stern light) fails.

Is the shunt for battery monitoring included?

No, the Shunt SHE 300 and other P-Bus components are ordered separately.

Setup? Directly on the device. You can configure your system intuitively and in just a few steps, without needing an additional computer.

Only relevant areas appear in the clear main menu. In seven logically structured submenus, you maintain full control at all times over:

batteries, tanks, temperatures, energy flows (AC/DC), main switches, consumers, and bilge pumps.

The PSM3 makes complex onboard technology easy to operate – intelligent, flexible, and precisely tailored to your requirements.

Technology that Endures

For our panels, we deliberately use exchangeable, mechanical circuit breakers – for maximum reliability and easy maintenance. Thanks to their sophisticated design, components can be replaced quickly and easily, which reduces downtime to a minimum.

As standard, circuit breakers with a current of 10 A are installed. Alternatively, circuit breakers with currents of 6 A, 10 A, 16 A, and 20 A can be used.

The integrated protection function makes additional fuses unnecessary and at the same time ensures a high level of operational safety. Since these are purely mechanical solutions, no additional energy is required for electronics or relays – a clear advantage in terms of efficiency and sustainability.

Smart Position Lamp Monitoring – Safety That Thinks With You

A failure does not go unnoticed: Electronic monitoring immediately detects when a light bulb, LED or even a cable connection fails – in real time and absolutely reliably.

In the event of a fault, you receive a clear, direct indication on the display. The affected position lamp is clearly marked so that you can react immediately without searching.

The electronic position lamp monitor detects the failure of a bulb or LED as well as a cable break. A failure is indicated by a flashing LED and an acoustic alarm and can be acknowledged by pressing a button. It works for incandescent bulbs and LEDs, even in combination.

This depends on the model: STV232, 235, 236, 238 and 244 have the BTM2, STV250, 255, 256, 258 and 264 have the PSM3, and STV267, 270, 274 and 284 have the PSL. If you are unsure, our support team will be happy to help you.

Yes, the BTM2 requires the SHE 348 shunt, which measures the consumer or service battery and can also display up to 4 tank sensors.

The STV 234-2p offers pure power distribution without a monitor or navigation light monitoring. The STV 254-2p has 14 circuits and additionally navigation light monitoring (POS 6) as well as a BTM2 or PSM3 monitor.
