Notes on battery disposal

In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
As an end-user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries. You can return old batteries that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning:
The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.

Pb = battery contains more than 0.004 mass percent lead
Cd = battery contains more than 0.002 mass percent cadmium
Hg = battery contains more than 0.0005 mass percent mercury.

 

Special features when selling starter batteries

In connection with the distribution of vehicle batteries, if you are an end-user, we are obliged according to § 10 BattG to charge a deposit of 7.50 Euros including VAT for each vehicle battery if you do not return an old vehicle battery at the time of purchasing a new vehicle battery. The deposit is not included in the purchase price and is shown next to the final price of the item.
 
If you return an old vehicle battery to us that we carry or have carried as a new battery in our product range in accordance with § 9 BattG, we are obliged, within the framework of legal regulations, to take it back free of charge and to refund the deposit amount.
If we have issued a deposit token in accordance with § 10 para. 1 sentence 3 BattG, the refund of the deposit upon return of the old vehicle battery depends on the return of the deposit token.
 
The return location is the address listed in the imprint.
 
Returning the old battery by post is not permitted due to hazardous goods regulations.
 
Alternatively, old vehicle batteries can also be handed in free of charge at recycling centers. The deposit collected by us will not be refunded by public recycling centers. However, you have the option of having the return of the old vehicle battery acknowledged on the deposit token there. Upon presentation of the acknowledged deposit token, you will receive the battery deposit back from us.
