Use
If shore power connectors are fitted at both the bow and stern of a yacht, a 2-pole changeover switch must isolate the two supplies. Without one, the unplugged pin contacts are live at mains voltage, which is life-threatening. The LAE 241 switches automatically between the two supplies, maximum 16 A. It must not be used as a shore/generator changeover switch.
Important installation notes
- On the onboard system side, an RCBo (RCD/MCB) circuit breaker must be installed to protect the onboard system.
- Make all connections carefully and use ferrules.
- The connection may only be made by qualified electricians.
- Modifications to the device void the CE marking.
