The undervoltage protection m-LVD (Low Voltage Disconnect) from Blue Sea Systems continuously monitors the battery voltage and automatically disconnects less important consumers as soon as an adjustable undervoltage threshold is reached. This leaves enough residual capacity in the battery to safely start the engine.

What is undervoltage protection like the m-LVD used for?

Whenever non-safety-critical consumers – such as cool boxes, lighting, or entertainment electronics – need to be automatically switched off when the battery voltage drops, so that the starter battery always retains sufficient capacity for starting the engine. The m-LVD thus reliably protects against deep discharge without the need to constantly monitor the voltage display.
