The CA 63 D 926 cam switch is a manual shore power-generator-inverter changeover switch for 230V on-board electrical systems on yachts, allowing shore connection, generator, and inverter to be switched selectively. It is designed for a current carrying capacity of 63 A and is particularly suitable for individual retrofitting of existing 230V systems.
- Prevents incorrect switching between shore power, generator, and inverter through clearly defined switch positions
- Automatically isolates the charger in switch position 3 (inverter operation), thus preventing feedback into the inverter circuit
- Compact installation dimensions for retrofitting into existing control panels without extensive modifications
The CA 63 D 926 cam switch belongs to the Philippi series of cam switches for individual retrofitting of 230V on-board systems. Switch position 1-0-2-3 covers all changeover requirements between shore connection, generator, and inverter, making it the right choice for yachts with all three power supply types. Since the charger is specifically isolated during inverter operation, the inverter circuit remains free from feedback from the charging system.
The switch is mounted in front panels with a maximum wall thickness of 5 mm. For thicker walls, such as those found in wooden control panels, the separate blank plate Leer CA (order no. 0 2900 2060, dimensions W 70 x H 70 x D 3 mm) is available, allowing the cam switch to be neatly installed there as well.
| Feature | Value |
|---|---|
| Order No. | 6 4042 7980 |
| Application | Shore power-generator-inverter changeover |
| Switch Position | 1-0-2-3, with charger isolation during inverter operation |
| Current Carrying Capacity | 63 A |
| Front | 64 x 64 mm |
| Installation Depth | 81 mm |
| Max. Front Panel Wall Thickness | 5 mm (for more: Blank plate Leer CA) |
Compatibility: Suitable for front panels up to 5 mm wall thickness; for thicker walls, can be used in combination with the blank plate Leer CA. For lower current loads, the CH 16 D 926 (25 A) is available, an identical model in the smaller cam switch range.
What is the CA 63 D 926 cam switch used for?
It is used for manual switching between shore power, generator, and inverter in the 230V on-board electrical systems of yachts and is particularly suitable for retrofitting existing systems.
Why is the charger isolated during inverter operation?
In switch position 3, the CA 63 D 926 cam switch automatically disconnects the charger to prevent any feedback from the charger into the inverter circuit.
How is the cam switch mounted if the front panel is thicker than 5 mm?
In this case, the separate blank plate Leer CA is used, which allows for clean installation even in thicker walls such as wooden control panels.
