The ACR 12/24 Isolation Relay (Blue Sea Systems SI-ACR) automatically connects two battery banks as soon as a charging source – such as the alternator – supplies voltage, and disconnects them again as soon as charging ends or consumers draw more current than is being supplied. With a continuous current of 120 A, it is also suitable for onboard electrical systems with powerful alternators.

When do I need an isolation relay like the ACR 12/24?
As soon as two battery banks are to be charged via a common alternator without affecting each other during discharge – for example, the starting and house battery in a boat, RV, or commercial vehicle. Thanks to its 120 A rating, the ACR 12/24 is also sufficiently dimensioned for more powerful alternators and larger house batteries.
