The Balmar MC-624-H is the 24-volt version of the Max-Charge series and is identical in construction to the MC-618, but specifically designed for 24-volt electrical systems. It also replaces rigid factory control with a finely graded 8-stage charging algorithm that individually adapts to battery type, temperature, and operating conditions.
Advantages
- 9 selectable charging programs, including for Standard Flooded, Deep Cycle Flooded, Gel, AGM, Spiral Wound Flooded/Optima, Lithium LiFePO4, and Carbon Foam AGM
- 8-stage charging algorithm (Start Delay, Soft Ramp, Bulk, Calculated Bulk, Absorption, Calculated Absorption, Float, Calculated Float) for gentle, efficient 24-volt charging
- Advanced programming modes: Charging times, voltages, and temperature compensation individually adjustable
- Supports alternator and battery temperature sensors for automatic adjustment of the charging curve
- Exclusive Belt Load Manager reduces belt load in 5% increments, protecting V-belts and alternators
- Integration with the SG200 battery monitor: Charging phase, target/actual voltage, and field current percentage directly readable on the display or in the Balmar app
- Also suitable for twin-engine applications in combination with the Centerfielder II
Technical Data & Compatibility
- Onboard system voltage: 24 V
- Field Current: 10 A, optionally available as a 15 A version
- 9 selectable charging programs, individually programmable and expandable
- Twin-engine capable in combination with the Balmar Centerfielder II (CFII-12/24)
- Compatible with the SG200 battery monitor and the Balmar app
- Delivery includes wiring harness
What distinguishes the MC-624 from the MC-618?
Functionally, both regulators are identical – the crucial difference lies in the onboard system voltage: The MC-624 is designed for 24-volt systems and works with a standard 10 A field current, with a 15 A version optionally available. The MC-618, on the other hand, is designed for 12-volt onboard systems with a 15 A field current.
Area of Application
The MC-624 is aimed at owners of boats with a 24-volt onboard electrical system who desire precise, temperature-compensated multi-stage charging – for example, for larger yachts, lithium retrofits, or the desire for connection to an SG200 battery monitor. The MC-624 is also the right choice for 24-volt twin-engine applications in combination with the Centerfielder II.
Equip your 24-volt onboard electrical system with the MC-624 and benefit from precise, battery-friendly multi-stage charging, including a wiring harness. The philippi team will be happy to assist you with questions about the suitable field current variant or twin-engine configuration.
