The Philippi switch panel STV 204 SY is a circuit distributor for sailing yachts that protects 4 circuits in the 12-/24-volt electrical system with thermal circuit breakers and additionally monitors the navigation lights for failure.

Anyone sailing at night or in the dark relies on functioning navigation lights – a failure often cannot be noticed immediately by the crew. The Philippi switch panel STV 204 SY electronically monitors the navigation lights and reports a defect directly via display LED and acoustic signal, so that timely action can be taken.

Connection is made via 6.3 mm spade connectors on the back of the rocker circuit breakers; the nickel-plated copper busbars ensure secure current transfer in the marine environment. Labeling plates (SKZ) and mounting screws are included in the scope of delivery.

The terminal block type RKL 10 is recommended as wiring accessory. If no navigation light monitoring is required, the cheaper switch panel STV 204 (without SY) can be used; if more circuits with the same monitoring are sought, these can be found as STV 202 MS (2 circuits) in the 200 series.

What exactly does navigation light monitoring do for me?

A failure of the navigation lights is difficult to notice yourself at sea. The STV 204 SY switch panel actively alerts you via display and audible signal, instead of the defect only being noticed during an inspection.

Is the simple STV 204 also sufficient for me?

If you rarely sail in the dark, the STV 204 without monitoring is sufficient. If you regularly sail at night, the navigation light monitoring of the STV 204 SY is a useful safety plus.

As standard, circuit breakers with a current of 10 A are installed. Alternatively, circuit breakers with currents of 6 A, 10 A, 16 A, and 20 A can be used.

The integrated protection function makes additional fuses unnecessary and at the same time ensures a high level of operational safety. Since these are purely mechanical solutions, no additional energy is required for electronics or relays – a clear advantage in terms of efficiency and sustainability.

The electronic position lamp monitor detects the failure of a bulb or LED as well as a cable break. A failure is indicated by a flashing LED and an acoustic alarm and can be acknowledged by pressing a button. It works for incandescent bulbs and LEDs, even in combination.

This depends on the model: STV232, 235, 236, 238 and 244 have the BTM2, STV250, 255, 256, 258 and 264 have the PSM3, and STV267, 270, 274 and 284 have the PSL. If you are unsure, our support team will be happy to help you.

Yes, the BTM2 requires the SHE 348 shunt, which measures the consumer or service battery and can also display up to 4 tank sensors.

The STV 234-2p offers pure power distribution without a monitor or navigation light monitoring. The STV 254-2p has 14 circuits and additionally navigation light monitoring (POS 6) as well as a BTM2 or PSM3 monitor.
