The Charging Relay DC 120A ACR (Blue Sea Systems BatteryLink ACR) automatically connects two battery banks as soon as a common charging source – alternator or charger with only one output – supplies voltage, and disconnects them again when the engine starts or during discharge. This way, the starting and auxiliary batteries share a single charging source without the need for a second charging output.
Advantages
- Automatic charge current sharing for two battery banks from a single charging source
- Optional auxiliary battery priority keeps the relay closed longer when the engine is running, so that auxiliary consumers are supplied for longer
- Integrated LED for status indication, optional remote LED available
- Side and bottom cable entries, removable terminal protection
- Connection studs for multiple cable lugs, one-piece stainless steel flange nuts
Technical Data & Compatibility
- Continuous current 120 A, intermittent current 210 A (5 minutes)
- Automatically detecting input voltage 12 V / 24 V DC
- Combine voltage 13.0 V (2 min.) / 13.6 V (30 sec.); Disconnect voltage (standard) 12.75 V, with auxiliary battery priority activated 12.25 V (30 sec.)
- Maximum battery size 850 CCA
- Cable cross-section 1 AWG (50 mm²), max. 1/0 AWG; connection studs 3/8"-16 (M10)
- Protection class IP67, UL 1500, ignition protected according to ISO 8846 and SAE J1171
For which application is the Charging Relay DC 120A ACR suitable?
Whenever two battery banks are to be supplied via a single alternator or a charger with only one output. The relay reliably separates the batteries when the engine starts and during discharge, but automatically combines them as soon as charging voltage is applied – ideal for vehicles and boats without a second charge controller output.
