The TCB is a high-current circuit breaker (285-Series Thermal Circuit Breaker) with thermal tripping and manual operation for surface mounting in vehicles with 48V DC electrical systems. It reliably protects circuits from overload and can be manually reset after tripping.

  • Direct replacement for 185-Series circuit breakers
  • 3,000 A Interrupting Capacity (AIC) at 48 V DC – suitable for medium-sized battery banks
  • IP67 degree of protection and ignition protected according to SAE J1171 – suitable for use in the engine compartment
  • Wide operating temperature range from –40 °C to +85 °C

  • M6 connection bolts (for 1/4" ring terminal), maximum tightening torque 50 in-lb (7.9 Nm)
  • Available for 30 A, 40 A, 50 A, 60 A, 70 A, 80 A, 100 A and 120 A
  • Not suitable for protecting starter motors

When is a high-current circuit breaker like the TCB the right choice?

Whenever circuits in 48V electrical systems need to be reliably protected against overload and a resettable breaker instead of a one-time fuse is desired – for example, as a replacement for older 185-Series circuit breakers in existing systems.
