The BWS 304 battery switch from the Blue Sea Systems m-Series selects between two starter batteries for motorboats and also allows parallel operation of both banks. With the four switch positions 1 / 1+2 / 2 / OFF, you can flexibly control which battery (or batteries) start the engine or supply the onboard consumers.
Advantages
- 4 switch positions: Battery 1, Battery 1+2 (Parallel operation/Combine), Battery 2 or OFF
- Enables emergency start by connecting both battery banks in parallel
- Tin-plated copper studs for maximum conductivity and corrosion protection
- One-piece stud design that won't loosen even under vibration
- Insulating cover protects the rear contacts, label set included
Technical Data & Compatibility
- Switch function: Selector 4 Position – switches isolated battery banks individually or combined to all consumers
- Continuous current: 300 A
- Peak current: 900 A / 30 sec. (Intermittent 5 min.: 500 A)
- Voltage: max. 32 V DC
- Mounting type: universal flush, surface or panel mounting
- Connections: Studs for 3/8" (M10) ring terminals, cables up to 4/0 AWG (120 mm²)
What applications is the BWS 304 suitable for?
The BWS 304 is the right choice for motorboats with two starter batteries, where normally one of the two batteries should be used, but if necessary, both banks can also be connected in parallel – for example, to start with the second bank if the starter battery is discharged.
The BWS 304 can also be used in off-road vehicles with two independent battery banks for flexible selection or combination of power supply.
