The Alternator Balancer CFII (CFII-12/24) balances two alternator charging systems by monitoring the port and starboard voltage regulators. When both generators and regulators are operating, the Centerfielder II automatically determines the starboard regulator as dominant for both generators – so it is possible to charge a common house battery bank with the combined power of both generators. The Centerfielder II prevents the "yo-yo effect", where two regulators repeatedly switch on and off as the battery approaches the target voltage, because the two systems are not working together.
