Galvanic Isolator
A galvanic isolator can be installed to prevent galvanic currents between the hull and the shore power grid. Two diodes connected in series and anti-parallel to each other create a blocking potential so high that galvanic currents can no longer flow. The galvanic isolator is also suitable for yachts with a plastic hull to prevent galvanic corrosion of the propulsion unit caused by the shore power connection.
