The Philippi LAU 340 changeover unit is an automatic changeover device for 3 AC inputs, which safely switches between shore power, inverter and generator in the yacht's on-board electrical system and is specially designed for higher generator outputs of up to 9 kW. It measures the mains input voltage of each source and only connects when it meets the requirements on board.

The Philippi LAU 340 changeover unit belongs to the LAU series for convenient mains changeover on board and is aimed at yachts with more powerful on-board generators. It ensures that AC generators are only switched on when they have started correctly and reached their rated voltage, thus protecting the on-board electrical system and connected consumers. In combination with the Philippi P-BUS system and PSM2 or PSL monitors, the changeover delay time and voltage thresholds for each energy source can be individually adjusted; when an AC-interface CAV is installed, the performance data of the AC system are also recorded and displayed.
As a pure changeover unit without an integrated RCBO circuit breaker, the LAU 340 is particularly suitable for retrofitting into existing systems where the outputs are already separately protected by RCBO (RCD/MCB) circuit breakers. For new installations with an integrated circuit breaker, the LAU 340 F variant is available.

The LAU 340 can be integrated into the Philippi P-BUS system and extended with the AC-interface CAV for power display. If an integrated RCBO circuit breaker is also required, this feature can be found in the LAU 340 F.
What is the difference between the LAU 340 and the LAU 325?
The LAU 340 is designed for higher generator power (max. 40 A / 9 kW instead of 25 A / 6 kW for the LAU 325) and is accordingly larger.
What output is possible at the generator input?
A maximum of 40 A is possible at the generator input, corresponding to 9 kW.
What is the difference between the LAU 340 and the LAU 340 F?
The LAU 340 F also features an integrated RCBO circuit breaker (40 A / 30 mA) and space for installing an ACW current transformer.
