The LAU 216 F automatic shore power/generator transfer switch and RCBO circuit breaker is an automatic AC transfer unit for yacht electrical systems, switching between shore power and generator and providing residual current protection thanks to an integrated RCBO circuit breaker (16 A / 30 mA).
- Automatic switching between two 230 V sources without manual intervention at the switchboard
- Integrated RCBO circuit breaker eliminates the need for a separate RCD/MCB in the shore power circuit
- Housing already prepared for the ACW current transducer – energy monitoring can be retrofitted later without an additional housing
- Connection to the Philippi P-BUS system possible via the ACE-T cable
On yachts, the LAU 216 F ensures safe switching between two AC feeds, typically shore power and a generator. As soon as one of the two sources fails or the shore power is disconnected, the Philippi unit automatically switches to the remaining source – without manual intervention in the on-board electrical system. The factory-integrated RCBO circuit breaker with a 16 A / 30 mA trip current simultaneously protects people and the on-board electrical system from residual currents, so no additional RCD needs to be installed.
Compared to the basic variant LAU 216, the LAU 216 F thus offers an added level of safety with identical connection values. The housing is also already prepared for the installation of an ACW current transducer, so that energy monitoring can be retrofitted at any time. Philippi supplies the LAU 216 F with an interface for the P-BUS system, for which the ACE-T cable (item no. 5 0411 1161) is required.

The LAU 216 F is the circuit breaker variant of the LAU 216 and part of the Philippi shore power unit series (LAU 216 / LAU 325 / LAU 340), which differ in the number of inputs and current carrying capacity. Optionally expandable with the ACW current transducer for energy monitoring in the P-BUS system.
What distinguishes the LAU 216 F from the LAU 216?
The LAU 216 F additionally has an integrated RCBO circuit breaker (16 A / 30 mA) and a housing prepared for the integration of an ACW current transducer.
Can I retrofit a current transducer?
Yes, the housing of the LAU 216 F is already prepared for the integration of an ACW current transducer.
What is the protection class of the LAU 216 F?
IP X4.
How do I connect the LAU 216 F to the P-BUS system?
The ACE-T cable (item no. 5 0411 1161) is required for this, which connects the LAU 216 F to the Philippi P-BUS system.
We will be happy to advise you on questions regarding compatibility with your on-board electrical system.
