The CH 16 A Shore/Inverter cam switch is a manual transfer switch from Philippi for individually retrofitting 230 V on-board electrical systems on yachts, allowing the power supply to be switched specifically between shore power and the inverter.
- Manual 1-0-2 switching between shore power and inverter, preventing incorrect operation thanks to clear switch positions
- Compact front mounting directly in switch panels, suitable for retrofitting into existing 230 V systems
- Part of the CH-16A series – available as shore-generator, shore-inverter, or shore-generator-inverter versions
When retrofitting a 230 V system on a yacht, it must be clearly defined from which source the on-board consumers are currently supplied – from the shore connection in the harbor or from the on-board inverter. The Philippi CH 16 A cam switch reliably performs this switching manually and thus prevents two sources from being switched on simultaneously.
The cam switch is mounted directly into front panels with a maximum wall thickness of 5 mm; for thicker walls, such as those made of wood, the appropriate blank panel Leer CA is available, into which the switch is then installed.
| Type | Function | Current rating | Front / Installation depth | Item No. |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CH 16 A 211 LG | Changeover switch 1-0-2, Shore-Generator | 25 A | 48 x 48 mm / 58 mm | 640202110 |
| CH 16 A 211 LW | Changeover switch 1-0-2, Shore-Inverter | 25 A | 48 x 48 mm / 58 mm | 640202111 |
| CH 16 A 251 | Changeover switch 1-0-2-3, Shore-Generator-Inverter | 25 A | 48 x 48 mm / 86 mm | 640202510 |
Directly suitable for front panels up to 5 mm wall thickness; for greater wall thicknesses (e.g., wooden walls), it can be combined with the blank plate Leer CA. For higher current carrying capacity, Philippi offers the structurally identical CA 63 A series.
Which version do I need for shore and inverter operation?
The CH 16 A 211 LW version is intended for switching between shore power and inverter. If a generator is also integrated, the CH 16 A 251 version (shore-generator-inverter) is suitable.
Can the switch be installed in any front panel?
The cam switch is designed for direct mounting in front panels up to 5 mm wall thickness. For thicker walls, e.g., made of wood, the Leer CA blank plate is required.
If you have any questions about the appropriate version for your 230 V system, we will be happy to advise you.
