The BLA battery balancer ensures charge equalization for batteries connected in series. The BLA operates whenever voltage differences occur between the 12 V battery blocks. This can be during charging or discharging, or even during idle periods.
The BLA operates bidirectionally and is capable of performing charge equalization in both directions, regardless of where the weaker battery is located.
The BLA can balance a 24 V block; for higher voltage systems, multiple BLAs are connected in series, meaning 2 units for a 36 V system and 3 units for a 48 V system are required.
